Founding Parliament members invited to Investigative Committee

Two members of the Founding Parliament movement were invited to the Investigative Committee this morning, the FP said in a statement. Alek Yenigomshyan, the temporary coordinator of the group, and Yerem Khondkaryan, a member of the FP, were summoned to the Investigative Committee as witnesses in the April 7 case. The Court of Appeal is scheduled to hear the appeals on the following days, Zhirayr Sefilyan – April 20 (11.00) Aram Hakobyan – April 20 (1.00) Gevorg Safaryan - April 20 (2.00) Garegik Chukaszyan - April 20 (5.00) Pavel Manukyan - April 20 (4.00) The five members of the opposition movement were arrested on April 7 on suspicion of planning to stir up ‘mass disturbances’ at the sites of genocide centenary commemorations on April 24. The Investigative Committee accused the FP members of urging supporters to disobey and even attack security forces on April 24. All were taken into two-month custody pending trial. Another Founding Parliament activist was charged with keeping arms and ammunition, but was released on bail pending trial.
