Weddings in Akhalkalak, a town in Samtskhe-Javakheti in Georgia, with a population of ethnic Armenians, last seven days and seven nights. Traditionally, wedding ceremonies are held before the start of the new work season when migrant workers leave their homes to work in other countries. In most cases, the ceremony does not reflect the general opinion about a traditional Armenian wedding.
