Hundreds of rose bushes planted in Yerevan Park in Paris
On the initiative of the Blue Cross of the Armenia's of France hundreds of roses were planted in Yerevan Park in Paris on March 8 in commemoration of Armenian women killed during the Armenian Genocide. Also, a monument was unveiled near the Statue of Komitas within the framework of events commemorating the Armenian Genocide Centennial. The event was attended by Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, Armenian Ambassador to France Vigen Chitechyan, members of the Paris City Council, representatives of cultural and media circles, public and political figures, numerous French Armenians and Parisians. Ambassador Chitechyan thanked the French authorities for the caring attitude and constant attention towards the ancestors of the country’s ethnic Armenian citizens. The memorial bears an inscription that reads, “In commemoration of the women victims of the Armenian Genocide, who disappeared without a trace, as well as those who survived and conveyed the memory.”
