Follow Jim Scrivener's lectures live at 11.00 (video)
From 13 to 15 February, renowned and acclaimed teacher trainer, freelance writer and consultant Jim Scrivener will visit Armenia to deliver public training sessions for all ELT experts, lecturers, students and language teachers in Armenia. You can follow the training sessions live starting 11 a.m. on A1+. Jim is a freelance writer, consultant, trainer and course leader. He also works as Teacher Training Ambassador for Bell and Academic Director of the Bell Teacher Campus. He is probably best known for his ELT methodology books, such as Learning Teaching, Teaching English Grammar and Classroom Management Techniques. His books have twice won Duke of Edinburgh English Speaking Union Prizes. He has also won the Ben Warren IH Trust Prize, The ARELS Frank Bell Prize and been shortlisted three times for British Council ELTONS innovation awards. His most recent books are for students: Visual Grammar 1 and 2. Jim was head of the team that designed the Euro exams, now widely taken in Central Europe and has been actively involved with Cambridge ESOL exams for many years. He designed and implemented the Bell Online Delta course and every summer he is Academic Director of the Bell Teacher Campus at Homerton College Cambridge, where he welcomes teachers from all over the world on short, exciting, practically-focused Teacher Training courses. Recently, along with Adrian Underhill he has been sowing the idea of a more challenge-rich, engagement-rich, learning-centred teaching that they have called "Demand-High". In these three days, Jim will deliver four sessions during which he will cover diverse topics including exploration of uncertainty in education and its implications for teaching, introducing an innovative language teaching approach with its practical implications as well as classroom management peculiarities for making learning in the classroom more visible and rewarding. All the sessions, except the February 14th 15.00 session, are open to public - free of charge. However, interested individuals need to register by filling a registration form for all the sessions they would like to attend before 5 February.
