Investigative Committee: Soldier died after violating combat duty rules
The Head Military Investigative Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case in connection with the death of soldier Tigran Simonyan, the press service of the Investigative Committee reports.
Senior lieutenant Tigran Simonyan, 24, was fatally wounded at 7:55 p.m., on Feb. 10, at military positions stationed in the northern direction of Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the case material, the soldier died form an apparent gunshot wound while on combat duty at his military post. The criminal case has been filed under Part 3 of Article 365 of the Armenian Criminal Code (violation of rules of combat duty or military service, resulting in serious consequences).
Investigation is underway to establish the details of the incident.
