Armenia ready to ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan under the auspices of ICRC
On February 3, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia David Tonoyan received Head of the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) Delegation in Armenia Sarah Epprecht. They discussed the implementation of agreements concerning the exchange of information about people who went missing during the Karabakh conflict. David Tonoyan stressed that the Armenian side is interested in continuing the effective partnership which started in 1992. Sarah Epprecht, in turn, noted that the ICRC is a neutral, impartial and independent organization and one of its priorities in the region is to find information on the fate of over 4500 people who went missing during the Karabakh conflict. Mr Tonoyan said that the Armenian Defence Ministry is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan under the auspices of ICRC over the exchange of data on the missing people, noting that such efforts would be directed to the implementation of norms of international humanitarian law.
