RA Foreign Minister received Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan (video)

On January 22 Armenian Foreign Minister Edvard Nalbandyan received Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Minori Kiuchi, who had arrived in Armenia on the occasion of the launch of activities of Embassy of Japan to Armenian in Yerevan. Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandyan highly appreciated the decision by Japanese Government to open Embassy in Yerevan, which will strengthen the cooperation between two countries. Thanking for the reception, Deputy Minister Kiuchi highlighted the importance of development of ties with Armenia and noted that was the reason for the foundation of Embassy in Yerevan. Minori Kiuchi delivered the condolences by Japanese government connected with the tragedy in Gyumri on January 12. During the meeting there was reflection on the issues relating to the process of implementation of agreements reached during the visit of the RA President to Japan in 2012, intensification of political dialogue, recurrent conduction of consultations between Foreign Ministries, interaction of friendship groups operating at parliaments, deepening cooperation in international organizations, expanding commercial and economic ties, intensification of cultural exchange. Minister Nalbandyan also thanked Japan for its continuous assistance in Armenia’s development highlighting the importance in the fields of substructures, development of information technologies, prevention of natural disasters. Both sides noted that the cooperation in IT sector has great potential. Speakers discussed many urgent regional and international issues. Minister Kiuchi presented the efforts implemented for security and strengthening stability in the Korean Peninsula. Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan presented the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, to achieve a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
