Soldier killed on the border
According to NKR DA operative data, on January 19-20 overnight, Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire regime at the line of contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijan about 220 times. During that period, Azerbaijan fired more than 2000 shots from weapons of different caliber in the direction of Armenian positions. During the same period Azerbaijani armed forces initiated 8 subversive penetration attempts at different parts of the line of contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijan. The frontier subdepartments of the RA Defense Army suspended the penetration attempts causing Azerbaijani side losses and making to retreat to their positions. As a result of violation of the ceasefire regime by the rival in one of the military bases stationed in the southern direction of the DA, Suren Kh. Philosyan born in 1995 received a fatal wound. The NKR Defense Ministry expresses sympathy and condolences over the heavy loss and extends support to the family and relatives of S. Philosyan.
