Serzh Sargsyan issued a message of condolences on the death of six-month-old Seryozha Avetisyan, the only survivor of a family massacre in Gyumri, who died in a Yerevan hospital on Monday. “We failed to save little Seryozha's life. We lost him despite the efforts of experienced Armenian and Russian physicians. The last light left after the Gyumri tragedy has gone out. Alas, the light went out despite all possible and impossible efforts,” said Serzh Sargsyan. “I extend my condolences to the relatives of the Avetisyan family and residents of Gyumri city and the entire nation. I know that the condolences cannot dispel the grief and bring back the infant but you should find strength and endurance to overcome the tragedy. You should continue to live and seek a fair compensation for all the brutal crime and the pain who have suffered,” he said.
