Gyumri Tragedy: Little Seryozha's condition deteriorated
The condition of Seryozha Avetisyan, the six-month-old infant who survived the tragic family murder in Gyumri, has deteriorated, says the Ministry of Health.
The infant has serious renal and cardiac insufficiency. Doctors have decided to perform peritoneal dialysis. The group of Russian specialists, who arrived in Armenia last week, continues to provide essential medical care to the boy. Physicians are sparing no effort to stabilize the infant’s condition.
Seryozha Avetisyan, who is now in Yerevan’s St Astvatsatsin hospital, underwent on Friday a ventricular drainage surgery, an intervention which doctors said would prevent life-threatening complications and serious disabilities in future. The child had earlier undergone surgery in Gyumri where he was hospitalized hours after the tragic incident left six of his family members killed in their home.
