Two soldiers killed, one wounded in Azerbaijan’s infiltration attempts
Military authorities in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic report that Azerbaijan launched reconnaissance-sabotage infiltration attempts in two directions overnight. According to the NKR Defense Ministry, Azerbaijani armed forces tried to infiltrate the southern and eastern sections of the Line of Contact at around 3:15 am. The Defense Army’s vanguard units timely spotted the enemy’s advancement, inflicted casualties upon their special detachments, forcing them back to their initial positions. Unfortunately, the Armenian side lost two servicemen during the operations. Soldiers Karen Grigoryan and Vardan Mkrtchyan were killed while defending against the enemy. Another soldier, Volodya Harutyunyan, was wounded. The Defense Army extends condolences over the heavy loss and expresses its sympathy to the family, friends and relatives of the soldiers. An inquest is in progress to specify the details of the incident.
