Spokesman for the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Tigran Urikhanyan has responded to the process of impeachment initiated by opposition lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan. “Before today’s parliament sitting, the BHK faction discussed Pashinyan’s initiative and below are our approaches,

  1. The initiative reflects the lawmaker’s concerns over the challenges and problems faced by the country;
  2. The popular movement which is receiving fresh momentum day by day aims to implement serious and irreversible changes in the country, which will find solutions to the aforesaid problems and challenges. The doors of the popular movement are open to all citizens and figures concerned with the country’s future;
  3. Together with its political partners, the BHK has taken the path to success based on exceptionally accurate calculations and sober measures that cannot disappoint our people;
  4. All rational calculations show that Pashinyan’s initiative cannot garner the necessary number of votes to become an agenda issue. The initiative will be a failure and we find our participation in meaningless.
  5. We reiterate that our upcoming actions will be aimed at mobilizing society, forming a multi-party political front, consolidating people and forming a new kind of power. Only in this way will it be possible to solve the problems faced by the country and its people. To achieve our goals we are ready to apply all constitutional means of struggle, including rallies, marches, sit-ins, collection of signatures, resignations, dismissals, etc.,” said Urikhanyan.
