The silence of the international community a week after the downing of an Armenian helicopter by Azerbaijan is unacceptable. Azerbaijan has not returned the bodies of the dead crew members and it is not clear yet when the bodies will be transferred to Armenia. "This resembles the ignorance demonstrated 100 years ago when the the Ottoman Empire carried out a genocide against Armenians,” says Gevorg Melkonyan, Chairman of the Chairman of the Association of Young University Students NGO. Members of the NGO today gathered outside the OSCE Office in Yerevan to pose their clear demands to the structure. “We are waiting for their adequate response. We also demand that the OSCE take measures to condemn Azerbaijan’s aggressive policy,” said Gevorg Melkonyan. The group left a letter at the OSCE Office in Yerevan with their demands. While the group was protesting outside the OSCE Office, Spokesman for the Heritage party Davit Sanasaryan was continuing his hunger strike announced there. Sanasaryan began the strike on Monday and said he would not stop the protest unless the bodies of the killed soldiers are transferred to Armenia.
