Freedom fighter's house left without electricity for four years (video)
Freedom fighter Gevorg Hakobyan begins his day by listening to the latest news. His battery-powered radio is the only source of information. The 49-year-old man has neither a TV nor a computer. Even if he had one, he could not use any electrical appliance because the house is de-energized. It is already the fourth year the power has been cut off because of electricity debts. “I have knocked on all doors for work. I am ready to work as a watchman, worker but they say they need young people. Several agencies asked me to fill in a form and wait for their call. But as time passes I revisit them to inquire about vacancies. They send me off promising to call me back,” tells Gevorg Hakobyan. Before 2009, the man lived on the pension given to freedom fighters but the pension was cut for some reasons. For more details watch the video.
