"Armenia won victory but situation deteriorated in the country" (video)
The Modus Vivendi Centre today hosted the presentation of an Armenian-language book by physicist Vladimir Harutyunyan. In the book entitled “The Armenian-Georgian War of 1918: Materials and Documents,” the lecturer of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University, presents archival documents about the short war that broke out between the two neighbouring countries on December 14, 1918 and lasted two weeks. “I believe the book will make the historic period more interesting for the readers,” Vladimir Harutyunyan told A1+. It took him a year to translate the documents from Russian into Armenian and to compile all the documents in his book. “Along with the translation, I also attached copies of original documents in the Russian language.” Speaking about the purpose of the book, the author said he aimed to make Armenians and Georgians understand a simple fact. “Super powers come and go, their interests may change in the course of time, the nations that once were enemies, e. g. Turkey and Russia, can become friends and allies. All this is done at the expense of smaller countries. We should do our utmost not to fall victims to these countries.” “Although the facts presented in the book show that Armenia won the war, the victory did not do any good to Armenia, on the contrary, the situation worsened in the country,” said the author.
