Gagik Tsarukyan hasn’t made a decision
As a member of International Olympic Committee, I agree that our sportsmen take part in European Games of 2015 in Baku. But as there are many unsolved serious problems, I must discuss it with our sportsmen, coaches and society in order to make a joint decision,”- said Armenian National Olympic Committee President Gagik Tsarukyan at today’s press conference. International Olympic Committee President Tomas Bach and European Olympic Committee President Patrick Hickey also took part in the press conference. The latter said that the EOC is ready to give relevant guarantees to Armenia so that it can safely take part in European Games in Baku. “Armenia is one of 49 members of European Olympic Family and we want it to take part in European Games. But if your sportsmen refuse leaving for Baku, no one will be punished by the EOC or other sports international federations,”- said Patrick Hickey. IOC President Tomas Bach noted that they do everything possible to keep sports far from the politics.
