Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs meet in New York
On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly’s 69th Session in New York, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met on September 23 with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov later joined the meeting with Ambassadors James Warlick of the United States, Pierre Andrieu of France and Igor Popov of Russia, and the personal representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk and the Armenian FM. The two FMs and OSCE mediators discussed the Karabakh peace process. The Minsk Group mediators reiterated their resoluteness to resolve the Karabakh conflict solely through peaceful efforts. They also discussed the initiative of French President Francois Hollande to conduct talks between the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Paris. The co-chairs also spoke about their plan to visits the South Caucasus region in late October.
