Armenia welcomes Greek Parliament’s move
Armenia welcomes the crimes bill adopted by the Greek Parliament on September 9, which criminalizes the denial of the genocides recognized by the Greek parliament, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said in a statement. “With this step, Greece once again proved its commitment to universal values and took an important step towards prevention of genocides and other heinous crimes against humanity,” said the Armenian FM. On September 9, The Greek parliament adopted a bill that criminalizes the denial of the Armenian Genocide and other crimes against humanity. The new law poses fines and increases jail terms of up to three years for those committing attacks based on ethnic origin or sexual orientation.
