Armenia needs an ally to fight back the new threat, says political analyst (video)
Political analyst Sergey Shakaryants does not rule out that Islamic terrorists might invade Caucasus. “Their goal is to ‘clean up’ the Middle East from non-Sunni Muslims and to create a pan-Islamic state and self-proclaimed caliphate. Our deepest fear is that they might head to Caucasus through Turkey. In that case Armenia will appear in a dangerous line,” said Mr Shakaryants. The political analyst says the Islamic terrorists are ordinary mercenaries ready to fight anywhere for money. Considering such a threat we should hurry to find an ally for us in the region, he stresses. “We need an ally that will not want Islamists to enter our region. Among our neighbours, Iran was the only country to announce on a state level that it would hinder terrorists’ incursion into the region,” he said. The expert advises the world to sober up as Islamic terrorists are carrying out massacres and abductions.
