Today the regular session of the RA Government held, which was lead by the RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. Opening the session, the Prime Minister turned to the inspections of Ararat valley water use, which resulted in some questions and findings. The RA Ecology Minister gave explanations over the issue. Aram Harutyunyan, “Mr. Prime Minister, there have been a number of baseless and absurd comments lately. In reality, we carry out a number of works connected with the water use problems in Ararat valley. We have announced about it many times, we have done discussions in communities, administrations and introduced a project, which will be exercised by legislative and all other aspects. The mess over the “Araratcement” is not true in reality. It is natural that I must announce that according to the information provided to us by Araratcement on December of 2013, the factory didn’t give production. The irrigation season hasn’t started yet, and so we have performed a test switching. As a result, we found out a number of illegal water users as well as fish farms. And if we compare the water there and that used by the factory, the factory uses only 16 liters water per second, whereas about 1500-2000 liters water flows out through that system. And only one thing may be concluded from here, that our works give their results and there is no sense to politicize these functions in vein”.
