Armenian PM meets representatives of Ernest and Young organization
Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met on Saturday with Armenian representatives of "Ernest and Young" global organization which provides audit and counseling services.
During the meeting held at the National Library of Armenia, the Armenian PM introduced to the guests the economic state and system of Armenia, referred to the problems faced by the country and reforms realized in tax, customs and other fields. In this context, the head of the Armenian government stressed that measures are being taken to make the activity of large enterprises transparent and controllable.
"Information about these enterprises must be able not only to the state bodies, but also to public. We publish the taxes paid by large businesses and the public is able to control them," Mr Sargsyan said adding new legislative mechanisms need to be introduced in order to fully control the sphere.
The premier also stressed the need to separate business from politics. He also answered the questions addressed to him during the meeting.
"Ernest and Young" launched its activities in Armenia in 2008. The Company provides assurance and advisory services to local and international clients working in the country. In 2010, Ernst & Young launched tax and transaction advisory services in Armenia. "Ernest and Young" is a global organization of member firms with 167,000 employees in more than 140 countries. Its Yerevan Office has 40 employees.
