Minister: Presidential elections will be the best in Armenia
No amnesty will be granted at the threshold of the 2013 presidential election, Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan said during today's press conference.
"The question is not under consideration," he said.
At his year-end meeting with journalists, Mr Tovmasyan said he has great expectations from February's election.
"I want and I am confident that the upcoming election will be the best in the modern history of Armenia," he said.
Hrayr Tovmasyan does not share the opinion that the election will lack competition and the campaign will be dull and uninteresting.
Rather, he advises assessing the situation correctly. "Don't you think that the political forces appreciated their abilities and refused to enter into the race, as unlike the parliamentarian elections, in presidential elections, the winner takes everything?"
The Minister also gave certificates of appreciation to those media outlets which, as he said, had actively and impartially covered the judicial sector.
