The protraction of the settlement processes not only hampers regional cooperation, but also restricts the peace-building efforts and includes serious threats for war resumption, Armenia's Permanent Representative in the UN, Ambassador Karen Nazaryan said in his report during the discussions at the UN Security Council on "Post-crisis peace-building."

He added that the post-crisis period provides an opportunity to create bases for stable development in the region, for which it's first of all necessary to demonstrate political will and resoluteness.

Karen Nazaryan noted also that the UN Security Council frequently refers to the issue, attaching importance to the implementation of peace-building processes and mechanisms targeted at preventing the resumption of lasting conflicts, which serve as guarantees for security and stability, peace and development.
