Four years is not enough to forget the tragic clashes of March 1, 2008, while the events are presented in a different light in the history textbook for state-run universities has become a target of sharp criticism.
According to the official version of the bloody 2008 post-election unrest, opposition groups are blamed for inciting violence in Yerevan.

"They should have refrained from expressing opinions and presented only the chronology. The textbook contains inaccurate information," says linguist David Gyurjinyan.
He says the events are the author of the textbook, Dean of YSU History Faculty Edik Minasyan described the events in his own way, distorting the facts.

"The Ministry of Education and Science should not have approved the book as it contains a subjective approach and had outstanding shortcomings," he added.

"If the book has caused uproar, it means it does not present the facts correctly," says Doctor of Science David Gasparyan.
