NA Speaker, Second Pres. meet on plane
The Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly today confirmed the allegations that he had met the country's second President Robert Kocharyan on his return way from the Czech Republic.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Hovik Abrahamyan said the meeting was accidental and did not touch political issues.
"I was sitting with the Armenian delegation when Mr Kocharyan entered the plane. The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations was sitting next to me.
Seeing the second President, he offered his seat to him as a sign of respect," says Mr Abrahamyan.
"The second President simply inquired about our meetings in the Czech Republic," he added.
In conclusion, Mr Abrahamyan reminded once again that Serzh Sargsyan will be Republican Party's candidate in the 2013 presidential elections.
