The attorney of opposition activist Tigran Arakelyan today motioned the court to review his client's restraint [detention] based on the recently adopted provisions of a PACE resolution.

Vahe Grigoryan reminded that under these provisions Tigran Arakelyan is considered to be a political prisoner. However, Judge Hakob Martirosyan rejected the motion, saying ‘no solid evidence had been presented for changing the preventive measure.'

Judge Armen Danielyan retired to the consulting room to make a decision.

Just at that moment, opposition activists present in the session shouted, "The judge is biased. He will appear at the dock himself! "

Present at the session are Naira Zohrabyan and Elinar Vardanyan, lawmakers of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK).
