Diaspora Minister to visit "Cilicean" school
On October 22, Minister of Armenian Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan is due to visit the "Cilicean" school opened in one of Yerevan schools for Syrian-Armenian children. "Cilicean" opened at the initiative of the Diaspora Ministry and Cilicia charitable organization has been operating inside basic school # 14 after Nar Dos since the beginning of October.
The solemn opening ceremony was attended by a number of officials including the Mayor of Yerevan, Taron Margaryan. The school aims to help Syrian-Armenian children avoid difficulties after they return home.
The Ministry of Diaspora set up a task force in July to coordinate the process of creation of the school in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Yerevan City Hall.
With the move, the organizers intend to provide continuation of educational process for Syrian-Armenian children and help Syrian Armenian families escape difficulties, when they return to Syria.
The curriculum will correspond to the Syrian academic program, the teaching will be conducted in Arabic.
