Armenian FM to visit Tehran
Armenia's Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian is to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran on August 30. He will attend the summit of the Foreign Ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement, RA MFA press service reports.
The 16th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement which opened in Tehran on August 26 will last for six days.
Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was founded in Belgrade in 1961, and was largely the brainchild of Yugoslavia's president, Josip Broz Tito; India's first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru; Egypt's second president, Gamal Abdel Nasser; Ghana's first president Kwame Nkrumah; and Indonesia's first president, Sukarno.
NAM is a group of states considering themselves not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc. As of 2012, the movement has 120 members and 17 observer countries, including Armenia.
Though the press reported that Serzh Sargsyan would leave for Tehran as well, Sargsyan's press office has not released any information regarding his visit.
