“BHK will still be under pressure”
Politologist Sergey Minasyan says Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) had a clear picture of what it was in for after refusing to form a coalition with the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and views the criminal case against Vardan Oskanyan's Civilitas Foundation in this subtext.
According to Minasyan, that was exactly the reason why BHK-member businessmen had different views on joining or not joining the coalition.
"Businessmen always want to be close to the government," says Minasyan.
Minasyan is certain that the talks on forming a coalition with the BHK will restart in the fall, that is, ahead of the 2013 presidential elections.
"It is a matter of principle for the leaders of the HHK. If the BHK agrees, it will have more levers and will be in a more favorable situation," said the politologist.
Until then, according to Minasyan, the HHK will continue to pressure the BHK in different ways.
