Samvel Alexanyan gave several mass media outlets some clarifications regarding the Pak Shuka (Closed Market) and mentioned that he was clarifying for the last time.

"Don't ask me again. It collapsed on its own because it was built in 1952. A commission has been established to find out why it collapsed."

In response to the comment that there was technical equipment near the Pak Shuka at night, Samvel Alexanyan said:

"There was no technical equipment there at night. We simply leaned the equipment on the wall so that there would be no harm to people in case of collapse."

As to why the arch collapsed on its own, Alexanyan said the commission would give its conclusion.

Samvel Alexanyan promised that the market would look like it used to and that the name "Yerevan City" wouldn't be posted in any part of the market. Alexanyan added that the market would be called Yerevan Market.
