Ombudsman, Police hold first meeting
The task force set up by the assignments of the RA Ombudsman and the RA Police Chief held its first session at the RA Ombudsman's Office today.
The rights and obligations of police officers and the organizers and participants of rallies during the Holding of Rallies, the law on the placement of Tents in Public Places, as well as issues related to the precedent law of the European Court and the OSCE standards in the context of the above mentioned issues were discussed during the meeting.
The task force was set up on May 30 with the purpose of developing specific standards on separate provisions in the RA law "On Freedom of Rallies", the application of which will prevent the violations of human rights and the disturbance of social order during peaceful rallies.
The task force includes three representatives from each department. The task force is led by Head of the Department for Criminal Procedure Rights of the RA Ombudsman's Office Ruben Martirosyan from the RA Ombudsman's Office and by Head of the Law Department of the RA Police Tatul Petrosyan from the RA Police, reports the Ombudsman's press service.
