ARF-D not participating in vote
The next issue on the agenda of the fifth National Assembly was the election of the NA chairman. The Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) nominated Hovik Abrahamyan, but the other parties didn't have a candidate.
Hovik Abrahamyan delivered a speech in which he particularly mentioned that the time had come to work and that he would do everything possible to make sure there is tolerance and partnership in the National Assembly.
Deputy of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gurgen Arsenyan asked Abrahamyan if he would guarantee that nobody would vote for someone else, to which Abrahamyan pledged to do everything possible to rule that out.
On behalf of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D), Armen Rustamyan declared that his faction wouldn't be participating in the elections for NA chairman and vice-chairmen, even though ARF-D deputy Artsvik Minasyan is part of the counting committee.
The NA chairman elections are currently being held at the National Assembly.
