HAK to drop mandates, if…
"The Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) purchased Armenia again and a large sector of citizens sold themselves," said Armenian National Congress (HAK) deputy candidate at precinct N 11, Arshak Banuchyan.
Nevertheless, Arshak Banuchyan says what motivated him was the fact that even though he lost to the candidate of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), he had personally received 4,302 votes. The HAK member said what also motivated him was the fact that 3,000 ballots were declared invalid at his precinct.
"Those who weren't able to take the money and say they voted for the HHK, went to the elections and turned in invalid ballots."
When asked if he thought that the HAK lost a large number of votes by collaborating with Prosperous Armenia Party, Arshak Banuchyan said perhaps it was right that the HAK had lost votes.
Banuchyan says the HAK is not too concerned over the loss of votes because there are intellectuals among the members of the BHK that have assumed their mandates and that the main evil has been and still is the Republican Party of Armrenia.
Banuchyan accepts the fact that there wasn't much election fraud at the polling stations.
He intends to appeal to the Constitutional Court to recognize the results of the vote at precinct N 11 invalid. What will he appeal, if there weren't many violations at the polling stations?
"The heads of the electoral commissions at several precincts kept the book registering the violations in a storage room and prepared protocols. There weren't many violations and nothing unusual happened at the polling stations," said Banuchyan.
Is it likely to see the HAK drop its mandates? In response, Banuchyan said anything was possible. "We will do that if the BHK, the Dashnaktsutyun and the other join us."
