The "Electoral System Center" NGO will be observing the May 6 parliamentary elections in Yerevan and the Aragatsotn province. The organization will implement its observation mission through young trained observers.

The training of observers and the observation mission at the polling stations in Aragatsotn province are organized along the sidelines of the "Support to Two Electoral Stages in Armenia" program, which is implemented by the OSCE Office in Yerevan with funding from the European Union.

The "Electoral Systems Center" NGO will monitor the elections in Yerevan with its own resources and there will 122 observers in Yerevan.

The observation mission will be held through fixed observers and mobile observation groups. The observers will visit the polling stations on May 5 to follow the activities of the electoral commissions.

As part of the observation mission, the organization will also gather facts through meetings with political parties, election candidates and other non-governmental organizations.

After gathering the facts and observing the elections on the days before and after the elections, the organization will prepare adequate reports (brief report on May 7 and the main report in late May), which will be provided to the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia and the main roleplayers included in the electoral processes.

The EU has provided 2,836,000 in funding for observer training and the observatory mission in Aragatsotn province, reports the EU press service.
