Deputy candidate: “Authorities consider me a serious rival”
Armenian journalist Goharn Veziryan, who is running in the May parliamentary elections under the majoritarian system, says she does not view Heritage MP Anahit Bakhshyan as her rival at Constituency N12.
"The opposition electorate will not vote for the Heritage candidate and the authorities view me as a serious contender at the constituency," Veziryan said during a news conference with Anahit Bakhshyan.
"Yes, the authorities attach importance Gohar Veziryan," hinted Bakhshyan.
"Do you envy me, Mrs. Bakhshyan?" said Veziryan.
"Oh, surely, I do," was Bakhshyan's reply.
The two women candidates, who are running in the upcoming elections from a single-mandate constituency, have been going from house to house canvassing citizens to vote for them.
Speaking about election bribery, the Heritage representative said that parties continue bribing voters by different methods.
"The Prosperous Armenia Party is giving fertilizer to villagers. The Rule of Law is giving jams. During our meeting with the residents of Metsamor on Sunday, we learnt that OEK had campaigned the locals by giving them bottles of pumpkin jam," said Anahit Bakhshyan.
The Heritage MP promised to money award to the author of a photo or video picturing briber givers and takers.
