Shots heard in Armavir
At 7 a.m., April 6, former prisoner Samson Poghosyan visited Meruzhan Mkhoyan, a majoritarian candidate at Constituency #21. Artak Gevorgyan, the son of MP Nahapet Gevorgyan, accompanied Poghosyan.
They reportedly invited Mkhoyan out to talk, where they beat him severely and left the scene.
Meruzhan Mkhoyan later went with his team to Hoktember village to ‘take revenge on the assailant.' They came to blows and fired shots. Poghosyan's brother was reportedly wounded during the scuffle.
As we reportedly earlier, yesterday a group of people led by Samson Poghosyan severely beat Arayik Alexanyan, Head of the Armavir Inspection of the Ministry of Urban Development of Armenia. Poghosyan is reportedly backed by MP Nahapet Gevorgyan who arranged his early release from prison in March.
Samson Poghosyan had been sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for an attempted murder on MP Rustam Gasparyan and was serving his sentence in Sevan penitentiary institution.
