An 80-year-old woman with no flying experience took over the controls of a small plane and landed a twin-engine Cessna successfully after her husband passed out at the controls in mid-air.

Helen Collins took over the twin-engine plane over Wisconsin in the United States and told the local airport she needed to make an emergency landing.

She did not have much time as the plane was also running out of fuel. With instructions via radio from the ground, Helen Collins made three attempts Monday to touch down at Sturgeon Bay before landing so hard on the fourth try that the nose wheel collapsed.

Fortunately, the 80-year-old ‘pilot' had taken flying lessons 30 years ago and knew how to land a plane.
The woman landed the plane with the help of her son, James, who gives pilot training and technical courses.

The Collins were flying home from the south of Florida when John Collins died of Heart attack during flight.
