Diversity and pluralism have considerably reduced on the airwaves since the closure of A1+ TV Company, says Chairman of the Yerevan Press Club (YPC) Boris Navasardyan.

"When the market loses a key player [A1+], all other actors become more cautious and apathetic about political developments, which is perceived even today," Mr Navasardyan told A1+.

The YPC Chairman believes that in the near future broadcasting licenses will be granted without restrictions.
"Starting 2015, there will be a wide range of frequencies, with different TV companies bidding for them and the one having required resources and desire will be granted a license," said Mr Navasardyan.

The YPC Chairman again highlighted the role of mass media during general elections.

"The election campaign starts in Armenia much earlier than it is set by the electoral law," concluded Mr Navasardyan.
April 1 was set as a deadline for candidate registration, with the election campaign officially kicking off on April 8.
