The March 4 parliamentary elections in Russia meet international standards and the country's legislation, Vice Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov told A1+ from Moscow.

Mr Sharmazanov left for Moscow on March 2 as a member of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly's observer mission at the Russian presidential election.
"On Sunday I visited over 20 polling stations where I met with representatives of other observation missions, voters and presidential candidates. We received no complaint," he said.
Eduard Shramazanov who also observed the parliamentary elections in Russia, is glad that Russia managed to organize better elections which were largely qualified as democratic.

"The presence of cameras at election districts is highly important. Unlike the parliamentary elections, I did not observe crowding at the election districts though more people attended the polls," he said.

Eduard Sharmazanov also reminded that all presidential candidates with the exception of Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov congratulated Vladimir Putin on the victory - a fact, which according to the Armenian official, may become a precedent for other countries.
