Yezidis to pitch tents outside presidential residence
A group of Yezidis gathered outside the presidential residence on Wednesday in support of their relative Kyaram Amoyan, who, according to the group, needs emergency medical treatment.
Karine Amoyan, the mother of the 19-year-old fellow, demands that his son be immediately taken from Nubarashen penitentiary institution to hospital.
"My son is in a grave condition. I beg the authorities to have him hospitalized. My son had a stroke caused by an abrupt interruption of blood flow to the brain and now he is unable to speak. They are keeping him in prison in that state," said the desperate mother.
Amoyan was arrested in 2011 on charges of breaking into the homes of a number of officials and businesspeople. The gang which was responsible for insolent criminal attacks was neutralized in Yerevan's Myasnikyan Avenue in September 2011.
Karine Amoyan claims her son is in no way linked to the bandit group.
"Let the officials come and identify my son, let them produce material evidence proving my son's criminal activities. During the funeral of our relative unknown people came in 5-6 cars, brutally beat my son and crushed his fingers. Nothing was found during the search of my house to prove that Kyaram was connected with the bandit attacks," said Karine Amoyan.
The mother says her son was lying in hospital during the aforesaid bandit attacks.
The relatives are going to put up tents near the presidential residence and say they will not leave the site unless Kyaram Amoyan is hospitalized.
