EP demands Russia stop arming Asad
The European Parliament calls on Russia to immediately stop selling all types of arms and ammunition and military equipment to Syria, as stated in the resolution on Russia adopted during the plenary session of the Assembly of the European Parliament held in Strasbourg on February 16.
The Resolution calls on Russia to join the "International Mutual Agreement" and give the UN Security Council the opportunity to work on solving the crisis in Syria by the proposal of the League of Arab States, reports Reuters Agency.
Syria is considered the region's largest importer of Russian ammunition.
