Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Friday the newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Armenia Jonathan James Aves and Mrs. Katharine Jane Leach. The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassadors on starting their mission in Armenia and noted that Armenia was interested in deepening its relations with Great Britain.

"Much depends on your work. It's first of all important for Great Britain to assume a balanced policy in the region. We have no oil, but we have other resources, which are more expensive and important. It's primarily the human capital, which we lay the main emphasis on. That is why we have declared the information technologies as a priority direction," Tigran Sargsyan said. He added that the investments of British companies in Armenia would give new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

Mrs. Katharine Jane Leach noted, in turn, that they would work to raise the Armenian-British relations to a new level. The Ambassadors noted that British companies are interested in making investments in Armenia, particularly in the spheres of mining and information technologies.
The interlocutors referred to Armenia's economic policy in different spheres, the bilateral cultural ties, and the relations between Armenia and the European Union.
