Village headman and his brother-in-law run in local elections
The first elections to local self-government bodies will be held in nine communities in Shirak Marz on February 12, 2012.
The villages of Shirak, Vahramaberd and Garnarinj are also preparing for local elections. The pre-election campaign has already launched in these communities, with the acting heads participating in the election race. The headmen of Shirak and Vahramaberd are from the Republican Party of Armenia while that of Garnarinj is from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun. The latter's rival is his brother-in-law from the Republican party.
