Pre-New Year surprises continue. There is no longer a need for food licensing.

The government came to this conclusion after studying the business environment.

"Certification, gathering documents and accreditation-these are mechanisms that are not having any impact on the quality and image of foods and have nothing to do with how the food is sold in the market," Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan told journalists after today's government session.

According to the minister, certification or licensing are additional and expensive paperwork that have an impact on inflation.

During the government session, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan mentioned that there were many functions that don't help raise the level of food safety, "but create corruption risks, bureaucracy and deteriorate the business environment".

Recapping the passing year, Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan sait "it was a successful year for the economy and the country".

Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan is also content with the year. According to her, the Ministry of Culture was able to establish a spiritual connection with the society, meaning there is at least an idea in the sphere of culture that has united everyone.

Other ministers refused to recap the year with different explanations. They said they were not in the festive mood at all.

Deputy Police Chief Artur Osikyan advised to wait for the RA Police press department to give "a detailed answer".
