Promises unprecedented elections
Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov assures that he has been surprised by and frustrated with those giving and taking bribes ever since he was a student. However, he didn't wish to comment on the confession of Republican partner Manvel Badeyan, who had taken a 5,000 dram electoral bribe, but hadn't fulfilled the order.
"The Republican Party of Armenia hasn't taken bribes, and I have no information about that. I wouldn't like to comment on or justify Manvel Badeyan's statements," the newly appointed deputy speaker of the National Assembly mentioned.
He tried to present his negative attitude toward electoral bribes by citing the words of great actor Frunzik Mkrtchyan, who said, ‘I don't understand why people give money to achieve something in life. It means that one has complexities and is nothing without money'. "I agree with Mkrtchyan. No comment."
Will the Republican Party of Armenia make such a call to its members before the upcoming parliamentary elections? In response to "A1+"'s question, Sharmazanov said: "We have to make the call and show everyone that by voting, they are determining their future and the future of their children for the next five years."
Eduard Sharmazanov assured that the government would hold unprecedented elections in terms of quality.
"Believe us, we are not just saying this. Knowing the president, I assure you at the highest level," Eduard Sharmazanov said.
