Medals for loving the homeland from the outside
On December 13, benefactor Vard Alexanian (Egypt), who has been awarded the "Movses Khorenatsi" Medal by the decree of RA President Serzh Sargsyan, and Armenologist, educator Hagop Cholakian (Syria) received their awards during a solemn ceremony held at the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
In light of the 20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Armenia, President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has awarded Vard Alexanian and Hagop Cholakian the "Movses Khorenatsi" Medal for their weighty contributions to the preservation of Armenian identity, their services to the homeland, as well as their great contributions to the strengthening of friendship between Armenia and foreign countries.
Handing the RA President's Award with pleasure and pride, Minister Hakobyan congratulated the Diaspora Armenian benefactor and the Armenologist and educator and mentioned that "staying Armenian outside of the homeland is pride, being patriotic outside of the homeland is courage, and serving the homeland outside of the homeland is sacrifice."
