H. Hovhannisyan tears off Ombudsman’s invitation
Political scientist Hmayak Hovhannisyan today tore off the invitation of Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasyan whereby Hovhannisyan was invited to partake in an expo dated to human rights protection.
This came after the political scientist was prevented from entering a political debate with the Republican MP Rafik Petrosyan at the "Hayeli" "(Mirror) club.
"We live in a fascist country which lacks the culture of debates," said Mr. Hovhannisyan.
Asked whether he might change his mind and attend the expo without invitation, the political scientist said, "No, I shall be attending a march at that time tomorrow."
Note the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) is holding a march on December 10 to mark the anniversary of the Human Rights Declaration.
