Sargsyan hopes potential will be used

Newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Tikahito Harada (seat in Moscow) handed his credentials to Serzh Sargsyan today.

Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success. Mentioning that Armenia attaches importance to the multifaceted development and deepening of Armenian-Japanese relations, Sargsyan registered with content certain activity that has been noticed in political contacts over the past couple of years and the political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of both countries that have become regular.

Serzh Sargsyan voiced hope that the serious potential of cooperation between Armenia and Japan in different spheres would be used during Tikahito Harada's term in office and would contribute to further strengthening of friendship between both countries and nations.

Newly appointed Japanese Ambassador Tikahito Harada expressed gratitude to Sargsyan for the congratulatory remarks and the good wishes and assured that he would do everything possible to deepen the bilateral ties.

He mentioned that next year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Japan and that that serves as a good occasion to hold multifaceted cultural events, as well as develop and implement programs for cooperation in the economic sphere.
