Armenia elected in an international organization
The elections for the committees, commissions and other supporting bodies set by the UNESCO General Conference were held during the 36th UNESCO General Conference on November 4.
Armenia was also included with Western European and former Soviet countries in the second selective group. Four countries had applied for the three vacant positions in the UNESCO international educational bureau's council, including Bulgaria, Slovakia, Armenia and Latvia. With 108 votes, Armenia became a member of the UNESCO international educational bureau council, and representing Armenia to UNESCO will be RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Karine Harutyunyan.
