SIS investigator beats young ANC activist
Young Armenian National Congress (HAK) activists Vahagn Gevorgyan and David Kiramijyan were assaulted at the Special Investigative Service.
They were "called" to the SIS to participate in the investigation in relation to the case instigated after the August 9 incident with police officers at Swan Lake.
ANC youth activist Vahagn Gevorgyan's father, Hayk Gevorgyan told "A1+" that the SIS investigator Gevorg Gevorgyan had used swear words and had applied force against the youth. The young activists are already out of the SIS building. In a telephone conversation with "A1+", Vahagn Gevorgyan said they had refused to take part in the investigation since they had that right, butu they had gone to the SIS since they had received a notice.
"When we entered, investigator Gevorgyan started screaming and insulting us, asking us why we had refused to participate. Then, he started using swear words. We were offended. He had no right to speak to us in that tone and in that language. We left the office, but weren't allowed to leave the building for 15 minutes. We claimed that they didn't have the right to do that and they barely let us go," Vahagn said.
According to him, the investigator came out and called Vahagn back, saying that he had to sign a document. "I returned, entered the building, went to his office and when we went in, he beat me. Some people entered the room and took me out. The investigator came after us and instructed the police officer not to let us leave the building. He also kept screaming that he would arrest us," Vahagn Gevorgyan said. The latter infored that they managed to leave the SIS someway and referred to their rights prescribed by the law.
